ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Deborah Muse-Carty, author and entrepreneur, lives in Central New Jersey, is married to James E. Carty III, Esq., and the mother of two daughters. She created The Adventures of Puff & Curl to teach self-love to black girls that don’t often see themselves portrayed as beautiful in major media. The Adventures of Puff & Curl celebrates black hair and cultural diversity.
Nia Carty developed a love for the arts at a very young age, with drawing immediately emerging as her favorite form of artistic expression. She began illustrating “The Adventures of Puff and Curl” when she was ten years old. After taking a hiatus while pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor, she returned to the drawing board, and continues to share her love of drawing with readers, by bringing to life the fun and exciting adventures of Puff & Curl. Dr. Carty is now a family medicine physician in Southern California, and enjoys developing lasting relationships with her patients from diverse backgrounds, of all ages.
